Logo-for-WebsiteThe International Association of Religion Journalists (IARJ), a global network of journalists promoting excellence in the coverage of religion and spirituality, is organizing a conference on “Reporting on Religion and Spirituality in Africa”, to be held in Accra-Ghana, July 28-29.

On this occasion, we invite religion journalists from Ghana to join leading colleagues in this event, and we welcome especially journalists located in Accra.

This will be the IARJ’s sixth major conference since its founding in 2012, with previous events in Bellagio (Italy), London, Boston (Massachusetts), Brisbane (Australia), and Buenos Aires (Argentina).

The conference is designed to serve participants with the shared resources, collegial relationships and practical tools necessary to meet the highest standards of reporting on issues of religion and spirituality in Africa, including interfaith dialogue, religious minorities, conflict and extremism.
The agenda will include several panels and working sessions where journalists share the issues they are facing, the stories that need to be told and our ideas for working together to do reporting on religion that lives up to our shared ideals of providing the world with the most accurate and relevant information on religion in African communities, and its wider impact on public policy and faith practices throughout the world.

The conference is organized with the support of University of Ghana and CBMM.

The number of places is limited.
